Throughout the week of October 27-31, students participated in a Baby Pumpkin project. Students "adopted" a small pumpkin and cared for it both at school and at home. We used this pumpkin as the subject for various writing activities. We learned how to use descriptive words (adjectives) when writing about our pumpkins and wrote in several genres including adventure stories and non-fiction. The students sharpened their writing skills and had a wonderful time celebrating fall!

This is Aaron's pumpkin's carrier. He named his pumpkin America because he felt it was a strong name.

Just wanted to let you know I loved this project idea. It was so cute. Elijah really enjoyed it. It was such a creative idea.
